This 3-day Samburu safari is designed for travellers who value privacy, refined comfort, and meaningful wildlife encounters. Set in the remote and less-travelled north of Kenya, Samburu National Reserve offers a distinctly different safari experience from the southern parks. The landscape is raw and dramatic, defined by open plains, riverine forests, and striking light that makes it a favourite for serious photographers.
You’ll stay at Surana Buffalo Spring, an intimate and design-led property that blends modern luxury with the natural surroundings. With only a handful of tents, the camp ensures exclusivity, personalized service, and uninterrupted views of the wilderness. Days are shaped around your pace, with game drives focused on locating the rare Samburu Special Five and capturing exceptional wildlife moments.
Your safari begins with a morning transfer to Wilson Airport for your scheduled flight to Samburu. Enjoy the scenic transition from the wet lush greenery of Nairobi to a more majestic landscape of Samburu.
You’ll arrive at Surana Buffalo Springs in time for lunch and a short rest. In the afternoon, head out on your first guided game drive. Samburu is known for its unique species and quieter environment, allowing for unhurried wildlife viewing and excellent photographic conditions.
Return to camp before sunset for dinner and an overnight stay.
